The Gebo OptiFeed is an integrated cap feeding system that consolidates four functions - cap storage, orientation, quality control and elevation - into a single, modular unit. Designed for both low and high-speed filling lines, OptiFeed delivers 100% compliant closures to the capper at all times, with a footprint reduced by up to 75% compared to traditional cap feeding architectures. 

What is a cap feeding system? 

A cap feeding system stores, orients, inspects and delivers closures to the capping station of a filling line at the required speed. Defective, misaligned or contaminated closures that reach the capper cause line stoppages, capping faults and potential product quality failures. A well-designed cap feeding system prevents these issues through automated detection and rejection before the closure reaches the machine. 

4-in-1 functionality in a single unit 

• Cap storage: a compact hopper stores a working buffer of closures to absorb upstream feeding interruptions
• Orientation: closures are oriented correctly regardless of their initial position in the hopper
• Quality control: mechanical and vision-based detection automatically rejects non-compliant caps without stopping the closure flow
• Elevation: oriented and validated caps are elevated and delivered to the capper at the required feed rate 

Footprint reduction and maintenance access 

OptiFeed's footprint is up to 75% smaller than equivalent systems built from separate components. Despite its compact dimensions, the design provides full operator access to all mechanical and electrical parts. The unit is shipped in an upright, ready-to-connect position, simplifying installation and commissioning. 

Reliability at high speed 

OptiFeed is engineered for optimum reliability at very high line speeds. Its mechanical and vision control system detects non-compliant closures in real time and diverts them before they reach the capper, making it suitable for high-output water, CSD and beverage lines.
