Sidel is committed to advancing circularity in the packaging industry in line with the Circular Economy Action Plan for the European Green Deal. 

Design for Recycling approach

Through Design for Recycling, Sidel ensures products are built for longevity, ease of maintenance, and recyclability. With a pledge to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, sustainability is prioritized at every stage of operations.

Initiatives supporting circularity

Sidel’s dedication includes the repeatable line project and involvement in R-Cycle, an open tracing standard for sustainable plastic packaging. 

R-Cycle and the digital product passport

As founding members of R-Cycle, Sidel supports adoption of a digital product passport based on GS1 standards to enable seamless packaging information exchange across the value chain, from manufacturers to recyclers.

Collaboration to drive progress

Through R-Cycle, Sidel engages with a network of over 30 members and more than 50 companies and organizations to explore projects and innovations, including pooling packaging information to support an effective circular economy.
