Unlock packaging performance with Sidel at PPMA Show

Sidel will be highlighting its innovative packaging solutions for Food, Home and Personal Care sectors at the Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA) Show, NEC Birmingham from 26 – 28 September 2023, Stand C100.

PPMA Show 2023 is the UK’s leading processing and packaging machinery event bringing together engineers, production and processing specialists, project managers and buyers. Industry players can optimise the performance of packaging production lines, increase agility and sustainability credentials by utilising Sidel’s packaging expertise and innovations. On-stand this year, the Sidel team will be presenting three key innovations for the Food, Home, Personal Care (FHPC) sector including the Cermex ProSelex® infeed system for packers, the latest agile Sidel robotic palletiser, the RoboAccess_Pal S and different sustainable and reliable PET packaging solutions.

Packing unstable shaped containers

Launched earlier this year, Sidel will be showcasing the new flexible Cermex ProSelex® infeed system at PPMA Show.  Thierry Grassart, Sidel Account Director for Food, Home and Personal Care industries, North-West Europe, comments on what this innovation means for FHPC industry players: “When manufacturers have developed appealing sophisticated containers on their production line, they don’t want them to be scratched, dented, or even knocked over before they are protected with their secondary packaging. The new generation of Cermex ProSelex® collating infeed module overcomes the packing complexity of unstable shaped containers. This streamlined grouping device can be connected to any type of case packer. It optimises packing operations and ensures extreme efficiency, high availability, and greater operability. It guarantees continuous product loading flows, minimum upstream accumulation, full container integrity, plus speeds of up to 300 products per minute and fast, easy changeovers from one minute to 2.5 minutes.”

High palletising performance in a compact footprint

Sidel will also be highlighting the RoboAccess_Pal S at PPMA Show, Sidel’s latest robotic palletiser that combines the best of robotics and cobotics for heightened performance. Sidel has been able to answer the growing market demand for very compact and affordable palletising systems for low/medium speed packaging lines. This new compact solution provides a high level of agility, operability, and performance. RoboAccess_Pal S delivers speeds of up to 12 cycles per minute and enables a case payload of up to 25kg while ensuring a fast return on investment, typically of one to two years. The palletising solution offers a new level of compactness with a footprint of less than 12m² for two stations with a significant pallet height of 1700mm.

Taking advantage of PET and rPET containers

PET is the only food-safe closed loop plastic and continues to offer FHPC manufacturers ample opportunity for brand differentiation. Sidel has been there to support the industry to make the best of this packaging material for over five decades. At PPMA Show, Sidel will demonstrate how it supports the packaging market’s demands for eco-friendly packaging alternatives, from 100 percent recycled PET (rPET) to light-weighted primary packaging, as well as optimised secondary and tertiary packaging alternatives. Sidel’s world-leading blowing solutions with proven preferential heating technology will also be displayed on-stand. Available standalone or combined with filling in a single machine (Combi), this process controls material distribution for ideal shape and wall thickness. This is the most reliable and cost-efficient solution for FHPC industrial needs guaranteeing appealing, high-quality containers, a simple and repeatable process, reduced production costs and great flexibility. Sidel’s experts will also be available to share industry-leading examples. Learn how IFFCO Group strengthened its condiments production capacity with Sidel’s cutting-edge PET lines in the Middle East and how Sidel contributes to Lesieur France’s sustainability and flexibility vision with three Combi solutions for light-weighted rPET edible oil bottles. Thierry Grassart concludes: “By continuously understanding FHPC market’s challenges, we work to deliver smart advanced packing and palletising systems and innovative packaging line solutions that can boost our customers’ agility in managing their lines throughout the entire product lifecycle. Our solutions enable industry players to be creative with their products and achieve high levels of flexibility, operations and efficiency to meet current and future trends and challenges. We look forward to welcoming them on-stand at PPMA Show.”
