Cermex SB & SW

The Cermex SB and SW are side-loading case packers designed for RSC (Regular Slotted Container) carton formats. Products are fed into the packing station via single-layer simple transfer or by a mechanical or servo-driven elevating and lowering stacker, enabling reliable handling of a wide range of container sizes and pack configurations. Their compact layout and small footprint make them suitable for production environments where floor space is limited.

What is a side load case packer?

A side load case packer inserts products into a pre-formed RSC case through the open side face. This approach is well suited to products that require controlled, horizontal insertion to preserve container or label integrity. Side loading is commonly used for glass bottles, shaped PET containers and cartons where vertical drop loading would create quality or stability risks.

Infeed and stacking options

The SB and SW support two infeed methods. Single-layer simple transfer suits flat, stable products. The mechanical or servo-driven elevating/lowering stacker option builds multi-layer loads before side insertion, increasing pack density. Servo-driven stacking provides precise layer control at high speed, with smooth acceleration and deceleration to minimise product stress.

Compact footprint and operability

The SB and SW are designed with a compact layout that facilitates integration into constrained line layouts. Easy operator access to all working areas reduces intervention time during changeovers and maintenance. The multi-function equipment design supports hot-melt adhesive and adhesive tape closing options.

Pressure applied evenly to case sides to ensure gluing and squaring of the case prior to outfeed.

Adhesive tape version

Motorized transfer of the cases (held square) by mechanical shuttle.
Positive transfer of the case by motorized belts for sealing by applying adhesive tape.
