Robotic case packer for high-mix packing applications
The Cermex AN/ER are robotic pick and place case packers built for robust, flexible packing of containers into cases, trays and other secondary packaging formats. Their specially designed frame, compact suspended structure and lightweight tooling make them well suited to fragile containers, irregular formats and production environments requiring frequent changeovers between different products and case configurations.
A robotic case packer uses a programmable robotic arm to pick groups of containers and place them into pre-formed cases, trays or display boxes in a defined pattern. Compared to mechanical case packers, robotic systems offer greater format flexibility, programmable grip configurations and the ability to handle containers that would be damaged by conventional mechanical insertion. They are particularly suited to high-mix production environments where case configurations change frequently.
AN/ER packers are fitted with an intelligent safety head mechanism that protects the gripping tooling during unexpected product or container events. This reduces the risk of costly tooling damage and unplanned downtime. Lightweight gripping heads and loading funnels reduce the physical load on operators during size changeovers, improving ergonomics.
The compact suspended structure of the AN/ER minimises the machine's vertical floor footprint, simplifying integration into existing production lines. Its wide working envelope can be customised to the specific reach and placement requirements of each application.
AN/ER robotic case packers support fast reprogramming for new case patterns and product types. New formats can be added via the control system without mechanical changes, supporting the growing demand for multi-SKU production on a single packing line.
