Sidel crate washers are purpose-built industrial cleaning machines for returnable crate handling in beverage production environments. Delivering high cleaning performance and full crate hygiene compliance, they are available in 1 or 2-tunnel configurations with outputs of up to 6,000 crates per hour. Their compact footprint and adaptable layout make them a practical solution for lines of varying configuration.
A crate washer uses a combination of high-pressure water jets, detergent application and rinse zones to remove product residues, labels and biological contamination from returnable plastic crates. Sidel's crate washers recover heat and water from the machine's drain and from the bottlewasher wastewater, significantly reducing utility consumption without compromising cleaning efficacy.
Crate washer efficiency is measured not only in cleaning performance but also in resource consumption. Sidel's heat recovery system captures energy from wastewater streams that would otherwise be lost, reducing steam and fresh water demand. This contributes to lower utility costs and supports operational sustainability targets across the production site.
Sidel crate washers are designed to integrate directly into returnable bottle lines alongside bottlewashers, fillers and palletising systems. Their modular sizing and inline or 90° outfeed options allow flexible line design, whether for beer, soft drinks, water or other beverage categories that use returnable crate packaging.
