As the CSD market in Latin America experiences expansion, driven by shifting consumer preferences, especially among younger audiences, and wider economic recovery, Coca-Cola FEMSA needed to scale up its production capabilities while ensuring product quality and environmental responsibility. At the Jundiaí, Brazil plant, space constraints made it essential to implement a compact solution, so the company sought a high-speed production line that could fit within the limited space while supporting various packaging formats, reducing operational costs, and aligning with its global sustainability initiatives.
Coca-Cola FEMSA chose to strengthen its long-standing collaboration with Sidel by implementing high-speed complete lines featuring the Super Combi and Combi SF300 solutions. These lines integrate advanced processes such as preform sterilisation, blow moulding, filling, capping, and labelling into a seamless and efficient system. The new lines are designed to produce up to 81,000 bottles per hour for smaller formats and 39,000 bottles per hour for larger formats.
They incorporate innovative features, such as Sidel’s EvoDECO labellers, as well as high-speed conveyors, ensuring both flexibility and efficiency in production. This design offers up to a 30% reduction in footprint compared to standalone equipment, making it an ideal choice for Coca-Cola FEMSA, which was seeking effectiveness and space savings for its Jundiaí plant.
Sidel’s solution not only supports Coca-Cola FEMSA’s high-volume production needs but also enhances sustainability. The system significantly reduces water and energy consumption by optimising the use of resources throughout the bottling process. Additionally, Coca-Cola FEMSA’s continued investment in Sidel’s lightweight PET bottle technology contributes to reducing plastic waste while maintaining bottle durability and quality.
The installation of Sidel’s high-speed lines has enabled Coca-Cola FEMSA to increase its production capacity while maintaining product quality and operational efficiency. The new lines have successfully met Coca-Cola FEMSA’s performance targets, and were validated for production within an accelerated timeframe.
The sustainability-driven design of Sidel’s equipment aligns with Coca-Cola FEMSA’s global environmental commitments, supporting its goal of reducing its carbon footprint and optimising resource efficiency. By implementing these new lines, Coca-Cola FEMSA is well-positioned to meet growing market demands while upholding its commitment to eco-friendly beverage production.
