SIDEL implements supplier development strategies to significantly improve Sidel India’s supply base. Such strategies include support of critical supplier capacity, and resolution of supply chain and delivery issues to ensure the continuity of supply to our customers. The position provides a critical proactive role for supplier readiness for volume increases, new product launches, and alternative sourcing strategies.
Your Mission
- Supplier
Identification and Evaluation: Identify, research, and qualify
potential suppliers and contract manufacturers (local and international)
capable of producing parts to exact technical specifications, potentially
conducting on-site audits to assess their capabilities and quality control
systems.
- New
Supplier Assessment Audit / Periodic Audit: Conduct new supplier
assessment audits to evaluate the supplier’s capability in terms of
quality systems, manufacturing processes, technical competence,
infrastructure, and compliance with company standards before supplier
approval. Review documents such as quality certifications, process flow,
control plans, and inspection methods to ensure the supplier meets
organizational and customer requirements.
- Supplier
Improvement Plan: Develop and implement Supplier Improvement
Plans for suppliers based on their performance in quality, delivery,
and cost. Analyze issues, identify root causes, and work closely with
suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions. Monitor progress
through regular reviews to ensure continuous improvement and compliance
with company standards.
- Escalation
Meeting: Conduct escalation meetings with suppliers to address
critical issues related to quality, delivery, or performance.
Review the problems, identify root causes, and ensure suppliers provide
clear corrective and preventive action plans.
- Production
Part Approval Process: Manage the Production Part Approval Process
for suppliers to ensure that new or modified parts meet quality and
engineering requirements before mass production. Review and approve PPAP
documents such as control plans, process flow, FMEA, and dimensional
reports. Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve gaps and
ensure successful PPAP approval.
- Interpret
Engineering Documents: Review and interpret complex engineering
drawings, Blueprints, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and other technical
specifications to understand part requirements (dimensions, materials,
tolerances, finishes, etc.).
- Timeline
Adherence: Manage supplier relationships and the entire sourcing
lifecycle for assigned parts or commodities, ensuring timely delivery to
meet project timelines and production schedules.
- Documentation
and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all Supplier
Development Activity, supplier information within SAP or procurement
software systems.
- Supplier
Training Quality / Delivery: Provide training to suppliers on quality
standards, manufacturing requirements, and company procedures to improve
their process capability and compliance. Support suppliers in
understanding technical specifications, inspection methods, and
documentation requirements. Ensure suppliers follow the defined standards
to achieve consistent quality and performance.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 5–8 years’ Experience in Supplier Quality or Supplier Development or Performance
- Experience with cross-functional team in moderately vertically integrated manufacturing environment
- Experience and knowledge across a variety of manufacturing processes
- Commodity experience: drawings-based parts and assemblies
- Excellent analytical skills with good knowledge of SAP S4 Hana & advance excel
