Position Overview: As the SAP ABAP / AMDP Lead, you will be a key technical leader within the SAP CoE team, responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex ABAP and AMDP solutions across our SAP S/4HANA platforms. This role requires deep expertise in modern ABAP programming, CDS views, AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures), OData services, and integration with SAP Fiori/UI5.

Your Mission

You will collaborate closely with functional leads, solution architects, and external implementation partners to deliver high-performance, scalable, and future-ready SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of custom ABAP/AMDP solutions in S/4HANA, ensuring adherence to SAP best practices and performance optimization.
• Develop and optimize CDS Views, AMDP Classes, OData Services, and Fiori/UI5 backend logic.
• Support key business processes across Finance, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Reporting by delivering high-quality technical solutions.
• Drive the modernization of legacy ECC developments into S/4HANA-compatible, table-driven, and flexible designs.
• Collaborate with functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Ensure effective governance of custom developments through code reviews, performance checks, and transport management.
• Partner with Basis and Security teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance, authorization, and system issues.
• Mentor junior ABAP developers and build strong internal technical capabilities within the CoE.
• Stay updated with SAP S/4HANA innovations (RAP, Steampunk, Embedded Analytics, BTP extensions) and propose improvements.

Your Profile

Qualifications and Experience:

• 10–12 years of experience in SAP ABAP development, with at least 4–5 years in S/4HANA (HANA-optimized ABAP).
• Strong expertise in AMDP, CDS Views, OData Services, Fiori/UI5 integration, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience in migrating and optimizing ECC custom developments into S/4HANA environments.
• Hands-on experience in SAP HANA SQL Script, Debugging, Enhancement Framework, BADIs, and User Exits.
• Strong exposure to SAP Finance (FI/CO), Logistics (MM/SD), and Central Finance (CFin) technical objects.
• Knowledge of integration with BW/4HANA and SAP BTP is desirable.
• Experience in managing teams, code governance, and collaborating with global stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Education & Languages:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required.

Additional Information:
Location: Pune, India (Hybrid)
Occasional travel to project locations (e.g., Italy) based on project needs.
Role reports to the SAP Program Manager or SAP CoE Head.
