GBS Regional Lead – China

Your opportunity

China represents a strategic and self-contained finance operations environment within the broader Global Business Services (GBS) organization. Unlike other regional GBS structures operating within a hub-and-spoke model, the China finance scope will remain fully managed and operated locally due to the complexity of the regional business environment, regulatory requirements, language landscape, and operational needs. The GBS Regional Lead – China will hold full leadership responsibility for the end-to-end finance operations organization across Order to Cash (O2C), Procure to Pay (P2P), and Record to Report (R2R) within China. This role is accountable for operational performance, stakeholder management, service delivery stability, compliance, process governance, organizational leadership, and continuous improvement across the China finance operations landscape. The role will serve as the primary leadership interface between regional business leadership, finance leadership, and the GBS organization within China, ensuring strong operational execution while supporting transformation and operational maturity initiatives.

Your Mission

• Operational Leadership
• Lead the end-to-end finance operations organization across O2C, P2P, and R2R within China.
• Ensure operational stability, service quality, internal control adherence, and compliance with local regulatory and company requirements.
• Act as the primary escalation point for operational, service delivery, compliance, and stakeholder-related matters.
• Drive performance management through KPIs, SLAs, governance forums, and operational reviews.
• Organizational & People Leadership
•  Lead and develop functional managers and operational teams across the China GBS organization.
• Build a high-performance operational culture focused on accountability, execution, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Support organizational capability development, succession planning, and long-term operational readiness.
• Continuous Improvement & Transformation
• Drive process harmonization, standardization, and operational efficiency initiatives across the regional finance organization.
• Identify opportunities for automation, reporting enhancement, and process optimization.
• Support implementation of operational best practices and scalable operating models aligned to business needs.
• Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership
• Build strong relationships with finance leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional regional teams.
• Balance operational delivery requirements with business expectations and compliance obligations.
• Provide leadership visibility through structured reporting, operational insights, and governance routines.
• Strategic Positioning of the Role
• This role is not designed as a coordination or satellite governance function. It is a fully accountable regional finance operations leadership role with direct responsibility for execution, operational performance, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership across the China finance scope.
• The successful candidate must therefore combine strong operational execution capability with strategic leadership, organizational maturity, and the ability to operate effectively within a complex regional business environment.

Your Profile

• 10+ years of experience within finance operations, shared services, or Global Business Services environments.
• Strong operational leadership experience across multiple finance process towers, including O2C, P2P, and R2R.
• Proven experience managing regional finance operations within complex multinational organizations.
• Strong understanding of China finance operations, compliance requirements, and stakeholder management
  dynamics.
• Experience leading operational transformation, process improvement, and organizational change initiatives.
• Strong ERP and operational systems knowledge, preferably SAP-based environments.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Strong leadership presence with excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
