As Ducona continues to grow across multiple beverage and food categories, including water, syrups, juices, smoothies and more recently, sauces, the company required a blow‑moulding solution that could support complex shapes, deliver premium quality and operate efficiently, all while using high levels of recycled PET. Operating in a market where energy availability is increasingly restricted, Ducona needed a solution that would align with its sustainability ambitions.
Sidel’s SBO 8 EvoBLOW blower solution, aided with Preferential Heating, provided the advanced capability Ducona required to manufacture 16,000 bottles per hour, while reducing PET usage by up to 10%. This specialised heating technology ensured superior performance for top‑down flat containers, offering greater accuracy than traditional blowing processes, particularly when working with rPET, which has a more restrictive process window. The system also incorporates Sidel’s double air‑recovery technology, delivering significant energy savings.
With more than 500 SKUs and over 300 million bottles produced annually, Ducona benefits from Sidel’s quick‑change solutions, enabling rapid format shifts within tight delivery timelines. Ducona’s installation of Sidel’s innovative equipment enhances bottle quality, improves production stability across varying rPET grade percentages and supports Ducona’s sustainability goals, demonstrated by more than 30% of its energy already being supplied by 8,800 solar panels.
We achieve superior packaging quality regardless of the recycling rate, and the energy savings are very important for us. With higher output, better cost efficiency and improved lightweighting, we are very satisfied with the new equipment.
