Sidel is looking for a Mechanical Engineer. Based at our Le Havre site, he/she will be part of the mechanical engineering team in charge of the development of mechanical modules. Our equipment uses a wide range of technology allowing varied study perspectives. Don't wait to apply!
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your main missions will be to:
Ensure design compliance with specifications.
Guarantee design feasibility with respect to technical constraints, assembly, and maintenance requirements.
Work autonomously in managing detailed tasks, while securing adherence to planning and schedules.
Manage technical problem-solving by participating in or organizing design reviews, qualification reviews, functional analyses, and FMEA, using a Six Sigma approach.
Ensure the quality of assembly drawings, design models, calculation notes, and functional analyses.
Handle non-conformities through RCA (Root Cause Analysis), defining and implementing preventive and corrective actions to drive continuous quality improvement.
Provide appropriate support to the Supply Chain (industrialization, quality derogations, resourcing, etc.).
Ensure strict compliance with internal design specifications, design processes, and product evolution rules.
Educational qualifications:
You hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a Technical Institute, ideally obtained through a work-study program.
Professional skills and experience:
You have solid knowledge of SolidWorks CAD software, with AutoCAD considered a plus. You are experienced in sizing mechanical components and transmissions, and familiar with both standard and additive manufacturing processes. Your expertise also covers structural analysis and material properties. You are skilled in problem-solving tools such as RCA and the “5 Whys.” With a positive attitude, you work well in a team environment and are open to occasional short-term travel to customer sites for surveys or machine problem analysis.
