Based at the Octeville-sur-Mer site (near Le Havre), home to over 800 employees, the Global Packaging Expert (M/F/D) is responsible for supporting the development of complex packaging projects for all applications, from promotion and pre-contracting assessments then technical elements definition up to industrialization. He/shet ensures that all packaging-related technical aspects — including product integrity, shelf life, and industrial production conditions — meet customer requirements while safeguarding the company’s business profitability. His(her) role includes the support for both equipment sales and service projects.
Reporting to the Technical Packaging Director, you will be responsible for:
- Advertising, promoting and explaining our technical solutions and innovations both internally and externally, particularly in the field of complex applications, sensitive products and associated technologies.
- Stay informed about material developments and apply appropriate solutions.
- Be a referent and monitor "sustainable solutions" at the European and global levels by participating in seminars or conferences with institutions and expert bodies in sustainable development, material recycling as well as Sidel’s clients and partners.
- Ensure communication with these bodies or the medias as a representative of the company.
- Serve as the internal group referent for sustainable PET packaging solutions, recycling, sensitive products, and Actis technology.
- Analyze pre-contracting requests to propose the best technical options that make our offer competitive and profitable.
- Support regional Packaging experts and Consultants in complex projects to provide the best technical and commercial answer to clients, while paying particular attention to business profitability.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven expertise in PET packaging design as well as in at least one of the following fields: blow molding technologies and related processes, aseptic technologies, polymer and PET science, barrier materials, recycling processes, or sensitive products.
They should have a solid understanding of complete packaging lines, including filling, labeling, conveying, secondary packaging, capping, and end-of-line operations.
A perfect command of English is essential, both written and spoken, with the ability to clearly present and engage with international technical audiences.
Strong project management skills and the ability to handle complex, cross-functional initiatives are also key to succeed in this role.
