Wrap-around case packer with hygienic design
The Cermex WB and BB are wrap-around case and tray packers designed for high hygiene, operational flexibility and low maintenance. Their open design minimises dust and fluid retention zones, while improved access to internal machine parts simplifies cleaning. Fitted with FDA-approved thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) timing belts, the WB and BB offer a hygienic and low-maintenance alternative to conventional chain-and-sprocket drive systems.
A wrap-around case packer forms a corrugated cardboard case directly around a grouped product load. A flat blank is fed from a magazine, scored and folded to wrap tightly around the products before being glued and sealed. This approach produces a rigid, compact case with a lower blank cost compared to pre-formed RSC formats. Wrap-around packing is widely used for beverage bottles, cans and jars, as well as food and personal care containers.
The hygienic TPU timing belts (FDA approved) replace metal chains, reducing the risk of lubrication contamination and the frequency of belt replacement. The open machine frame design eliminates enclosed areas where product residues or cleaning media could accumulate, supporting thorough wash-down cleaning.
Changeovers on the WB and BB are completed in approximately five minutes. Case dimension adjustments - length, width and height - are made automatically, with new unlock/lock push buttons enabling ultra-fast setting changes. Quick-release systems allow change parts to be swapped without tools, with all adjustment positions pre-set from stored format recipes.
The WB and BB support optional integration of Track & Trace serialisation systems, meeting regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical, healthcare and food traceability across supply chain operations.
