Sidel to present latest innovations in PET packaging at ProPak East Africa

Sidel, a global provider of liquid packaging solutions,today announced its debut participation at PROPAK, East Africa'sleading printing, packing and plastics conference and exhibition,which will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from the 17th to 19th of March2015. 


The three-day event will bring together beverage industryprofessionals from across the globe to meet and share insights withkey industry players in the East Africa beverage value chain. Theconference will feature Dominique Martin, Regional CommercialDirector for Sidel in Africa, who will discuss the various optionsavailable to producers who want to design, optimize and validatetheir packaging for different supply chains and productionconditions. Sidel, the gold sponsor of ProPak, will be alsoshowcasing its latest innovations in PET packaging solutions. Thesesolutions include RightWeight™, an approach that ensures bottlesare lighter yet also stay attractive, protect beverages and lead tohigher consumer satisfaction, and the Sidel StarLite™ Base, a newdesign to the base of standard PET bottles proven to give addeddurability, stability, and overall resistance to the bottles.

Through the course of the event, Dominique will be discussingthe various products available to producers - from creative andtechnical design to finite element analysis, bottle feasibility andeventually industrial production. He will also cite a number ofsuccessful case studies from different parts of the world, whichdemonstrate the creation of real value in the real world.

In 2013, Sidel established the Greater Middle East and Africa(GMEA) Zone with its headquarters in Dubai, UAE, and supportingoffices including in Johannesburg. The GMEA team comprises of 120employees with many different experts including Account Managers,Customer Service Managers, Project Managers, Layout Designers,Field Service Engineers, Planners, Coordinators and SiteManagers. 

 

According to Euromonitor, at the end of 2014, bottled water wasthe most consumed beverage item in Kenya with a total of 292million liters and a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.6 percent till 2019. Carbonated soft drinks ranked second with 270million liters at the end of 2014, and a CAGR of 3.1 per cent till2019.

 

ProPak is an annual event dedicated to suppliers involved in thepackaging, food processing, printing, labeling, and plasticsindustries. Last year, over 2000 trade visitors came to Nairobifrom all over Africa and the rest of the world to interact withmore than 60 exhibiting companies from over 15 countries.
