The position will be based in Guadalajara, México and be part of the System Design team of Sidel Americas. The incumbent will be in responsible to work with sales designing the complete line layouts and ensuring the correct integration of Sidel and third parties’ equipment, including conveying specifications and accumulation profiles.
Determining the required conveyor components and performing the necessary calculations to prepare a pre-contracting layout as per the request received from the Precontracting Project Manager (PMP within the required time-frame.
Validation of pre-contracting layout, engineering and costing.
Analysis and validation of customer specifications (type of motors, chains, bearings, lubrication, etc.).
Onsite measurements and customer meetings (with Complete Line PMP).
Line dimensioning and accumulation calculations.
Integration of all the equipment of the line into the layout, in accordance with safety, ergonomics and efficiency requirements.
Liaise with Sidel conveyors manufacturing sites for the conveyors supply.
Prepare and distribute technical specifications required for the conveyors and line operation.
Possibility of meeting with the customer (with Complete Line PMP)
Develop first lay-out engineering and CAD drawing for the offer in line with specifications and requirements
Receive inputs from Product Division and other suppliers,
modify, complete and validate layout, engineering and costing
Responsible for line dimensions and accumulation calculations
Select conveying systems, obtain quotation and send purchase order
Perform on-site measurements, participate in customer meetings and the kick off meeting
Gather information required to finalise execution layout (machine templates, hardware and software interfaces)
Develop final layout with equipment templates, machine positioning, utilities and drainage layouts and machine weights
Responsible to meet deadlines set by the Project Manager
Create project database and feed updated data from Product Division; update and maintain AutoCAD Station
Knowledge of complete plant engineering and design.
Knowledge of CAD environment (Autocad) 2D high level mandatory, 3D is a plus.
Knowledge of conveying systems and associated concepts is a plus.
Fundamental understanding of mechanical, electrical and assembly drawings.
Basic knowledge of mechanical & Electrical engineering technologies and manufacturing processes.
Ability for short-term business trips globally.
Fluent English language is mandatory.
Fluent Spanish language is mandatory.
French / Portuguese / Italian is a plus.
Knowledge of control systems and industrial electrical systems is a plus.
Knowledge of civil engineering will be appreciated.
Programming experience will be appreciated.
Working experience as a designer in a conveyor manufacturer company.
Technical diploma or University degree in Mechanical design/Mechanical engineering or similar.
Software proficient (ERP, GDT, Excel).
Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering
2 yrs experience in design with beverage industry
Skilled in Micro software and knowledge of CAD environment and PC Office
DAO Station and SAP ERP management software
Solid mechanical knowledge relative to the industrial field
Knowledge of civil engineering and fluid dynamics, able to take measurements on site
Knowledge of line design and control principles
Ability to travel (30%)
