Nouvelle Brasserie de Guinée (Braguinée) 2021

The challenge

Braguinée is one of the top three players on the Guinean CSD market and part of the Gaselia Group. It opened its plant, equipped with a Sidel PET packaging line in 2018 in Conakry, the capital of Guinea. The company originally produced beverages in small, on-the-go formats (300 ml and 350 ml) but it needed to adapt its production for home consumption with a larger format (1L). Due to Covid travel restrictions, though, the line could not be fine-tuned in person. This meant that Sidel experts had to empower the Braguinée team with the in-depth expertise required to adapt the line safely and efficiently to the new format.

The solution

An international team of high-level international Sidel experts were mobilized to ensure continuous availability, accurate and clear communication and a flawless line conversion. Sidel’s latest Remote Video Assistance (RVA) and Remote Access technologies as well as specific documentation also facilitated the successful installation of the new equipment parts required to produce the new 1L bottle format.

The outcome

In just three days, the Sidel team guided and empowered the customer’s operators, indicating adjustments and pointing to details in real time. This seamless exchange of knowledge enabled the customer’s team to act accurately and confidently, while Sidel experts checked that all the settings for the new format were correct and ensured the highest quality and optimal efficiency.
The complete packaging line with a Combi SF300 for CSD can now handle not only on-the-go formats but also 1L bottles at 22,000 bottles per hour (bph).

"“A fast release of our new product on the market with minimum line downtime was possible thanks to strong collaboration and excellent project management by Sidel. Everything was planned in detail, from parts installation to line start-up, and we could count on the expert team at every step of the project. They also showed great teaching skills and, thanks to the digital solutions they used, they quickly transferred Sidel's expertise to our team. Learning by doing was a great way to develop our operators’ technical skills even further!”"
