Sidel is looking for the Sourcing Engineer who is the interface between Engineering, Sourcing Commodities and Suppliers during the development of new products in order to manage the sourcing and prepare the procurement. He/she supports the early involvement of suppliers in the development of new products, with the aim to achieve the best in class supply chain in terms of quality, cost and procurement lead-time. The role is based in Parma (Italy) and will report to the Module & Product Development Sourcing VP.
■ Collaborate with Program Manager to lead activities of sourcing, costing and supply chain qualifi-cation;
■ Define and execute the sourcing plan for new modules and articles of each assigned projects;
■ Develop the Make or Buy strategy with Supply Chain;
■ Define the master vendors list for biddings in compliance with Global Commodity Strategies;
■ Manage RFQ/RFP and negotiations with suppliers (prices, supply terms, general purchase terms);
■ Recommend the suppliers for new modules and items to fit cost, quality and lead-time targets;
■ Develop partnership with the strategic suppliers of know-how or technology by negotiating Collab-oration Agreements / Development Agreements;
■ Monitor and report Direct Material costs at each project milestone;
■ Lead Cost Decrease Plan to achieve Target Cost when appropriate;
■ Ensure the early supplier involvement in product development to promote design-to-cost (VA/VE);
■ Participate in Design Review meetings with engineering;
■ Ensure Supply Chain qualification before end of industrialization phase (quality, suppliers capac-ity);
■ Ensure ERP readiness to procure the 1st prototype as well as production procurement.
As a key role of the Sourcing Target Operating Model, you will have to identify, define and implement all methodologies, standards and guidelines to reinforce the efficiency of Sourcing.
Level of education and languages:
■ Master Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
■ Excellent command of English language (full professional competency)
Required experience and skills:
■ From 1 to 5 years of experience in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering;
■ First experience in Sourcing or Purchasing role a plus;
■ Experience of working in an international environment;
■ Business acumen (financials, NPV, breakeven, cost breakdown);
■ Ability to read and understand drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM);
■ Computer skills including Excel or Database Software (Microsoft Access, Oracle, MySQL);
■ High level of interpersonal skills with a demonstrated verbal and written communication skills;
■ Strong Leadership with ability to drive changes;
■ Team player, quick learner, self-motivated, results oriented, flexible and a strong sense of ur-gency;
■ Strong proficiency with data analysis;
■ Rigorous, organized and autonomous.
