Your Opportunity

The Sourcing Commodity Leader report to the Global Sourcing Manager/Director. The Sourcing Commodity Leader will be responsible for the development of commodity strategies and supplier management. He/She will perform sourcing activities for a set portfolio of spend categories at global level to achieve Commodity results and ensure compliance with the Group Strategy The position will be a combination of strategy and implementation activities.

Your Mission

  • Lead, develop and implement global commodity strategies for assigned spend categories
  • Analysis of the spend for the categories of responsibility;
  • Monitor the market through constant benchmarking in order to continuously improve costs, quality, delivery and technology;
  • Support the Global Sourcing Manager in defining the annual saving forecast, identifying risks and opportunities;
  • Implement the saving action plan to achieve the assigned annual cost saving target;
  • Promote and lead cost reduction activities and alternative products/ solution, towards internal stakeholder and
  • Suppliers, to contribute to the overall cost reduction target;
  • Manage Supplier Relationship at global level, monitoring trend of KPIs and setting necessary corrective actions;
  • Negotiate long-term contracts with Suppliers, at global level, that set out prices, quality standards, cost-reduction
  • improvement along agreement duration, delivery timescales, and commercial terms and conditions;
  • Communicate effectively and manage relationships with key relevant internal stakeholders, in order to contribute to the cross-functional projects;
  • Ensure compliance with sourcing processes;
  • New product qualification and pricelist update in SAP.

Your Profile

Education and Languages 

  • Master Degree in Engineering is preferred; Business/Economics is also accepted
  • Fluency in English is a must-have. Sidel specifically appreciates you have experience outside your country of origin as part of your multicultural experienceFluency in French, Italian and/or Chinese is an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook and SAP knowledge

Required experience and skills

  • Minimum 5 years in strategic sourcing in an international manufacturing company, preferably automotive;
  • Knowledge of the market/ product categories concerned would be a plus;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (production or maintenance) or sales would be a plus;
  • Costs/ results focused;
  • Negotiation is a key element in order to communicate with both suppliers and stakeholders to obtain the best value for the technical specification supplied by the stakeholder;
  • International negotiation, contract and claim management;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills: be able to communicate effectively at all levels, and with all functions at least in English;
  • Ability to work independently and take initiatives;
  • Proactive, strong problem solving/analytical attitude;
  • Team work attitude in cross-functional and international teams;
  • Strong sense of self-motivation and determined;
  • Prepared to travel extensively;
