Your Mission

  • Successfully support the Finance Director, Finance Manager, and local accounting and operations teams in tax-related matters
  • Lead tax compliance activities for Sidel US and Sidel Canada to include withholding taxes, sales taxes, corporate income taxes, payroll taxes, Customs duty taxes, and transfer pricing documentation
  • Gather and provide timely information for tax return preparers, tax payments, and tax audits
  • Reconcile tax returns to the balance sheet and make appropriate adjusting journal entries
  • Prepare property tax returns
  • Review income tax returns for accuracy and consistency and communicate discrepancies to tax advisors timely
  • Make required corporate tax payments and record tax refunds
  • Audit monthly US sales tax returns prepared by local tax advisors and approve for payment
  • Collect customer sales tax exemption certificates as needed and input into Sales Tax Software program
  • Explain taxability of invoiced items to customers as needed
  • Issue sales tax exemption certificates to vendors as required
  • Validate accounts payable use tax and withholding tax calculations as needed
  • Prepare and audit the annual 1099 reporting data
  • Prepare the quarterly tax segmented P&L and enter data into corporate financial reporting packages
  • Calculate and record the semi-annual corporate income tax and deferred tax accruals and enter data into corporate financial reporting packages
  • Calculate, report, and pay the monthly Canadian withholding, payroll, and sales tax liabilities
  • Work with tax advisors to prepare annual local Transfer Pricing Reports for Sidel US and Sidel Canada legal entities
  • Complete required government census and BEA reporting as well as annual Business License applications
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and make appropriate correcting journal entries
  • Lead tax audit activities, provide requested information, and perform required follow-up activities
  • Evaluate tax risk and nexus requirements and complete registrations as needed
  • Participate in special projects as needed

Your Profile

Level of education and languages:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • CPA/CMA/MBA preferred
  • Must be fluent in English; French is preferred but not required
Required experience and skills: 
  • 5 years of progressive tax accounting experience required
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Excellent Excel skills required
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual
  • Superior communication skills required
