Becasa, a sparkling water bottler in Havana (Cuba), wanted not only to improve the performance and productivity of its 11-year-old blow molder, but also wanted to motivate its technicians, who were encountering difficulties in their day-to-day work. Sidel’s experience and total commitment have enabled the customer to meet its goals.
Heineken Slovensko A.S., a beer maker in Hurbanovo (Slovakia), expressed its desire to motivate its staff through the transfer of theoretical knowledge and through hands-on training with its machinery (blow molder, rinser-filler, palletizer and labeler), so that they could deal better with work conditions.
Alpla Venezuela S.A., a plastic closure and packaging manufacturer in Venezuela, was hoping to improve staff’s investment in their work and their contribution to customer satisfaction. After training courses were completed at different sites, the company observed a greater level of confidence amongst operators as well as greater ability to use the equipment optimally and to deal with any operational problems.
After completing a maintenance course, operators at the Western Container Company, a PET bottle maker in Rancho Cucamonga (California, USA), now have a better understanding of breakdowns and repairs. This mostly hands-on course was specially adapted for a diverse group of trainees, in order to meet the customer’s objectives of updating their knowledge about the mechanical aspects of the machinery.
Finally, thanks to the Sidel expert’s great experience and perfect understanding of the machinery during the on-site training course given at Amcor PET Packaging, a plastic packaging manufacturer based in Mexico City, it was possible not only to improve machine start-up and performance, but also to improve compliance with safety recommendations, an Amcor priority.
Most of these customers are considering further training courses with Sidel. However, each is proceeding at its own pace: some prefer taking advantage of the “low season” to free up their technicians and allow them to broaden their knowledge, whereas others already have projects underway such as process trainings to improve machine usage and bottle quality.
