When packaging sensitive products such as juices, teas or liquid dairy products, there is always a risk. Micro-organisms, light, oxygen and temperatures can all influence the quality of your drink. At Sidel, we make it our priority to ensure the highest possible drink quality.
To preserve the integrity and quality of your products, we have two unique aseptic R&D labs in Parma, Italy and Octeville, France. Our experts in Package Product Interaction (PPI) are able to understand the behaviour of beverages in different packaging, measuring the product quality and its shelf life.
Our lab experts analyse packaging barriers against dioxygen (O2), ultraviolet light and carbon dioxide (CO2), as well as the finished product quality over time by measuring vitamin C levels, oxygen-ingress product colouration and organoleptic quality. We take into consideration both the bottle and the full package (including, for example, closures and additive sleeves). Our pilot lab performs real and full industry simulation. It features a machine for personalised or standard preform injection, an industrial blower using the latest generation of machines, product processing with Tetra Pak equipment, an aseptic valve filler, a capper and incubation rooms on site. As a result, we can ensure thorough testing along the entire line.
