Sidel can model and execute computer simulations and 3D design visualization

Service Features

  • Validation of design principles or modification options
  • Assessment of the line’s real potential using advanced simulation
  • Estimation of overall line efficiency improvements thanks to line modifications
  • Creation and testing of realistic "What if" scenarios
  • Results analysis of various experiments and scenarios
  • 3D layout simulation to demonstrate impact of line layout within the plant’s actual physical space

A computerized model of a production line can be used within audits, or on a stand-alone basis. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a line simulation is worth a thousand pictures. This tool makes it possible to analyze various scenarios, each with its own parameter settings. In the case of a new line, it can be very useful in the decision-making process to compare several possible scenarios. Simulation can provide reliable answers to questions such as:

  • How much flexibility does a line truly have on a daily/weekly/monthly basis once the yearly production requirement is considered?
  • How will variation of a specific parameter affect line efficiency?
  • How much accumulation is needed to protect the critical machine from micro-stops?
  • What over-speed is required on upstream/downstream machines in order to regenerate accumulation?
  • What is the optimum critical machine speed considering upstream/downstream equipment and accumulation?
  • How can objective justification be obtained for a machine replacement or upgrade?
