Sidel launches online services portal for customers

07.05.2007

Sidel Group customers can now order parts or consult technical manuals online saving valuable time in machine fleet management.

Sidel’s MySidel portal is available 24/7 on Sidel’s website at www.sidel.com, making life easier for Sidel customers. MySidel features applications and information updated in real time and tailored to match the customer’s machine fleet. Two applications - Spares On line for ordering parts and WebDoc for checking technical manuals for any machine in the Sidel portfolio - are already up and running. MySidel will be adding new functions throughout the year including a My E-Learning space for online training using multimedia materials and a virtual communication space to allow customers to ask technical questions.

Using the Spares On Line application, customers can exchange data between their own system and the MySidel interactive portal, which eliminates duplicate data entry. Now when placing parts orders, customers can extract Sidel item codes and quantities already entered into their own computer systems and import that data into the Spares On Line interface.

As an integral part of the Life Cycle Management philosophy, MySidel provides a valuable link between Sidel experts and customers. MySidel helps customers on a daily basis, enabling them to better understand and maintain their machines in order to maintain and improve performance throughout the useful life of their equipment.

The Sidel Group is one of the world’s leading suppliers of packaging equipment for liquid foods. The company has 5,300 employees around the world and is a division of Tetra Laval.

Spares On Line is an online application for ordering parts.

Customers can check parts prices, search for parts availability in the warehouse, check on procurement times if parts are not in stock, and place orders – all in real time. Customers can also check the status of current orders and review archives of previous orders.

There are three ways to import orders into the Spares On Line application:

  • Customers can extract Sidel item codes and quantities already entered into their own information systems and import that data into the Spares On Line interface.
  • Customers can also go to the WebDoc application, Sidel’s technical library available through MySidel, and search for a machine’s bill of materials in order to select parts and insert them directly into an online order with a click of the mouse.
  • Customers can also enter an order directly into the Spares On Line tool.

Spares On Line is currently available in most countries around the world. In the next few months, it will also become available in Central America, South America and North Asia, with global availability expected before year-end 2007.

With the WebDoc application, users can download and reference technical manuals for any machine in the Sidel portfolio.

Document access is tailored to match the customer’s machine fleet. Users can consult the latest instruction manuals, maintenance information, spare parts documentation and electrical and pneumatic diagrams. Interactive pages make working with the online documents fast and simple.
