BRAU Beviale is one of the most important European trade fairs for the production and marketing of beer and soft drinks. This year the 1,500 exhibitors from all over the world include a powerful “new entry”, bound to catch the attention of the expected 38,000 trade visitors.
The names Simonazzi, Gebo and Sidel are of course not new in this context, but this is the first time they have come to Nuremberg as the powerful brands of the new Sidel Group.

Completing the Actis™ machine range, the new Actis™ 48 meets the market demand for high-speed PET packaging of beer, carbonated soft drinks and oxygen-sensitive beverages, guaranteeing top-quality at lower costs.
The merger with Simonazzi has provided the Sidel Group with a comprehensive portfolio covering filling systems for any package – glass bottles, cans and plastic bottles – at any speed up to over 120,000 containers per hour with different filling technologies. As far as PET is concerned, the market is growing fast, especially for beer. Simonazzi foresaw this development some time back and today is able to respond in an innovative and reliable way to filling requirements with the Simonazzi Eurotronica FM-LT (long tube). The machine is characterized by accurate filling with low-oxygen content, rapid format changeovers, and product saving.

Machines in packaging and bottling lines can be adapted to the special requirements of non-pasteurized beer by introducing a series of technical modifications aimed at optimizing hygienic conditions. Collaboration between Simonazzi and Grolsch in developing hygienic design solutions goes back to 2002. Among the important recent results from this R&D project are the components devised for transporting bottles and therefore in closest contact with them – screw feeds, starwheels and guides.
Innovation and expertise will also feature prominently in the Sidel Group's participation in the Exhibitors’ Forum to be held during the fair. Two key themes will be presented and discussed: “Actis™, high speed coating systems for beer applications,” and “Line upgrades through simulation.”
