Sidel solutions for carbonated soft drinks

The best soft drinks are playful, fizzy products with an original sweet taste. So, soft drink producers pay particular attention to the following industrial concerns:

  • Preserve CO2 gas inside the packaging
  • Assure the original beverage taste (original recipe)
  • Guarantee long package shelf-life while preserving product qualities
  • Reduce bottle weight and assure bottle stability

World leader in blowing equipment and filling technologies, Sidel was the first to offer plastic packaging for beverages with approval from the French Ministry of Health received in 1964. Sidel is proud of the numerous customer references it has built up since its creation, resulting in its current extensive installed base for beverages and food.

For any package - plastic, glass, can - at any speed from 2,400 bph to 120,000 bph, Sidel has a technical solution adapted to the specifications of CSD products!

More about CSD bottling solutions

Before bottling or canning the carbonated soft drink, it is necessary to properly prepare the syrup according to the recipe. The syrup is then mixed with water to prepare the beverage. Sidel process machines (mixers and carbonators) handle this preparation process.

Filling is a crucial conditioning step. For some sensitive soft drinks, a specific microbiological environment is often required. Sidel Hot Fillers assure the pasteurization of the product by heating it.

For better hygiene and optimized filling conditions, the Sidel Combi machine is strongly recommended for filling soft drinks in plastic bottles. This machine combines blowing, filling and capping on one piece of equipment that secures the key steps in the bottling process on an easy to operate system.

CSDs in small size PET containers (i.e. < 600 ml) may require a barrier in order to meet shelf life requirements depending on storage conditions (like tropical climates, exportation, etc.). Sidel Actis Lite™ inner carbon coating technology offers more than two to three times the CO2 barrier of non coated PET and preserves all original qualities of carbonated soft drinks. Actis Lite™ extends the shelf life of PET bottles to more than 20 weeks.
