ACTIS™

Plasma coating machine

Actis™ barrier solution (Amorphous Carbon Treatment on Internal Surface) uses dedicated plasma coating technology to extend the shelf life of sensitive drinks. It provides the container with an internal carbon-based coating, which strengthens the barrier properties of PET packages to gases (O2 and CO2).

The Actis™ process is specifically designed for containers susceptible to gas exchanges (ingress of oxygen (O2) and/or loss of carbon dioxide (CO2)). This technology is available in two versions (Actis™ and Actis Lite™).

The Actis™ layer, in direct contact with the beverage, prevents any PET-related migrations (acetaldehyde, oxygen, water). As the carbon coating completely adheres to the inner wall of the bottle, Actis™-treated PET is resistant to delamination, particularly under hot and humid conditions.
