The lightest bottles in Romania with 47% energy savings

Sidel supports Romanian producer, Rio Bucovina, with installation of Sidel SBO10 Universal 2eco blow moulder and new bottle design

Reduction in use of electrical energy

Following the success of earlier products and the trust built between both companies over more than 20 years, Romanian water producer Rio Bucovina acquired a Sidel SBO Universal 2eco blow moulder. Cristian Serban, Business Development Director of Rio Bucovina, says "The SBO Universal 2eco, along with its Ecoven, hassubstantially cut costs for us, reducing the new line's energy consumption by 47% compared to other blow moulders we might have chosen."


Reduction in air consumption

Rio Bukovina Sidel machineEcoven technology requires fewer heating modules and lamps, with thepreform-heating time reduced by up to 15%. Power consumption is substantially decreased and the use of installed power lowered. Ecoven's large heating reserve and fast heating ensures there is no slow-down in production, delivery excellent heat treatment precision, so bottle characteristics are consistently replicated. Rio Bucovina also now benefits from the reduction in air consumption of the SBO Universal 2eco blower, which again adds tosavings in production costs.

45% lighter bottles

With an annual growth of around 5% in recent years, sales of bottled water have seen the consolidation of established, domestic brands. In Romania, domestic brands dominate through tradition, brand recognition and affordable pricing. The Bucovina bottles, redesigned by Sidel's packaging specialists and characterised by their very modern and elegant style,weigh considerably less than the previous ones - 31.5 grams compared to 43 grams for 2 litre bottles and 24 grams compared to 39 grams for 1.5 litre bottles.
