Britvic invests in the future in Ireland
With the quiet strength of a historic company, Britvic shows the right energy for the challenge
A proactive philosophy
To continue growth and to maintain its position as one of the UK's leading brands, Britvic has a clear strategy: innovation and the development of new products. The latest machine the company has acquired from Sidel is their sixth Universal SBO 20/24 blower with an output of 36,000 bph. The new blower is part of Britvic's Ireland investment plan.
- Installation of Universal SBO 20/24 blower
- Installed in record time of only two weeks
- Immediate performance in terms of energy savings and cost efficiency
- Conversion to containers with patented Sidel Soft Plus base - significantly reducing blowing pressure requirements
Extending operations to further afield
Based in Chelmsford, Essex, Britvic has exclusive bottling agreements in the UK and Ireland for global brands such as Pepsi and 7UP, Gatorade and Heineken. It has a growing overseas presence, through Britvic Ireland, Fruité Enterprises and Britvic International, exporting to over 50 countries worldwide. Altogether, Britvic plc sells a combined total of 1.9bn litres of soft drinks.
Energy and cost savings
The earliest contact between Britvic and Sidel goes back as far as the 1980s. The latest blower was installed in the company's Dublin facility in a record time of only two weeks and the machine immediately produced some remarkable performances in terms of energy savings and cost efficiency. The company also chose to convert all its bottles to containers with the new patented Sidel Soft Plus base, thus significantly reducing blowing pressure requirements. As a result of this low energy usage and the air-consumption savings made by the blowers, Britvic in Ireland has been able to reduce energy use and its subsequent costs.
